Reviews
Wonderful meal for four, attentive and friendly service - nice “treats” in-between the main courses and the fougasse bread roll with good quality olive oil was divine. Took the Menu de Midi / Lunch with the optional wine pairing and all was good. Nice view on the square…one of the best, if not the best restaurants in the village. Will return…
Taste wise very nice but portions are small and the bill I felt too high.
We went for lunch. The restaurant is at middle of the old Mougins. We got a table in the veranda which was pleasantly cool.
The service was a bit off. We received the amuse bouches (which were very average, an non event) before being asked if we wanted any water or any drinks.
Strange for that standard of restaurant!
First impressions? Not great.
We had the lunch menu at 45 euros.
The bread was tasty.
The starters were very nice and the portions were appropriate, really liked the tuna.
However, the mains were served in small portion and felt like we had two starters again.
Nice but not amazing.
The paris brest was nice.
Overall, the bill was high (example expresso 6 euros!!) for a lunch. It was nice but not amazing and you could leave hungry!
Great service and a really nice atmosphere. The food however was a slight disappointment and did not live up to the expectations of a fine dining menu. They might have ambitions but I’ve had much better to that price. Took the signature menu and wine pairing. No complexity in the food and quite dull combinations. 4 out of 5 of the wines were perfect, but the dessert wine did not make it at all for my taste.
Excellent flavors and textures in all the plates from the complimentary pistachio popcorn and apple beetroot ginger juice down to the olive tapenade bread rolls. The experience was diving and although portions look small it was quite a filling meal. Service was excellent and meeting the chef behind the kitchen curtain was a lovely highlight. I can see why this place is so highly rated on Google and TripAdvisor.
Absolutely incredible experience! The food is fantastic, with plenty of creativity demonstrated across novel and traditional dishes alike. The service is outstanding and the kitchen is generous with small additions throughout the meal. Denis (the chef) is a true gentleman and was more than happy to speak with us after the meal and take a picture. Cannot recommend enough, and I am sure a first Michelin star is on its way here.
Probably in the top 5 of my preferred restaurants in the South of France.
Deserves a first Michelin Star.
Great service.
Took the tomato and tuna menu with all the courses based on these two fresh local produces.
Great food and flavour combinations.
Cosy rooms upstairs.
I would highly recommend this resturant. I was provided a table indoors (all tables outside was fully booked) eventhough I didnt have any reservation. All staff was very welcoming and kind. While I was waiting to order the chef Denis Mettison himself took my order. He was very attentive to all of the customers. I loved the cozy ambiance and the creative tastes. The location of this place as it says in the name is very central. I would highly recommend the seafood (I tasted the prawn carpaccio and the grilled octopus) and the souffle was one of the best I ever had!
